Day 1: Delhi – Mandawa (257 km.) Leave Delhi early morning to avoid highway traffic. Breakfast on NH-8 and drive towards Mandawa, situated in the heart of Shekhawati region. The journey to Mandawa will take you through lush green fields to the fairytale city where forts, palaces, castles and havelis with exquisite paintings on them. On arrival check into hotel, have lunch and get ready to explore famous havelis of mandawa.

Day 2: Mandawa – Bikaner (188 km.) Early morning drive towards Bikaner the “Land of Camels”. On arrival check into hotel. After lunch visit the eye-catching Junagarh Fort, constructed in 1611 AD by Raja Rai Singh. Then visit the Lallgarh Palace – built between 1902 and 1926 according to the Mughal, European and Rajputana architectural technique. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 3: Bikaner – Jaisalmer (331 km.) The road to Jaisalmer is heavenly to drive on. Start journey post breakfast. Passing through Pokharan reach Jaisalmer by the afternoon, check into hotel and have lunch. Explore “Sonar Qila” which gives a fairy tale appearance while the golden light of setting sun covers it. Not to miss Patwon ki Haveli and 300 years Salim Singh ki Haveli. Later in the evening back to the hotel for night stay.

Day 4: Jaisalmer – Khuri (45 km.) After breakfast get ready for Khuri Village. Khuri is one of the best places to experience the life in desert. Go for a camel ride, eat homemade local food and sleep under stars in sand dunes. The true road travel experience.

Day 5: Khuri – Barmer (126 km.) Morning after breakfast leave for Barmer, a journey through rural Rajasthan. Discover small villages with mud-walled houses decorated with delicate folk motifs and colorfully attired people on the way to work- a fascinating sight indeed. Night stay at hotel.pus_00131

Day 6: Barmer – Udaipur (340 km.) It’s a long way to go today so start early to Udaipur. On arrival check into hotel; evening at leisure.

Day 7: Explore Udaipur After breakfast get ready for the tour of Udaipur. City Palace is a majestic architectural marvel, Jagdish Temple is the largest and most beautiful temple, Saheliyon-ki-bari is an ornamented garden which was built for royal ladies to stroll. Pichhola Lake is surrounded by hills, palaces, temples, bathing ghats and embankments. Two island palaces, Jag Mandir and Jag Niwas are of breathtaking magnificence. Sajjan Garh dominates the city’s skyline. It offers a panoramic overview of the city’s lakes, palaces and the surrounding countryside. Later in the evening back to the hotel.

Day 8: Udaipur – Pushkar (287 km.) After breakfast start journey to the tranquil town of Pushkar, situated along the bank of the picturesque lake, on the edge of desert. It’s famous for the only temple of Lord Brahma and Camel Fair, and is a heaven for foodies. Roam around the desert, explore happening market and witness sunset at the lake.

Day 9: Pushkar – Delhi (400 km.) It’s a long journey ahead today. Wake up early to conclude journey of a lifetime. Singing along and talking about the most memorable moments, reach Delhi by late in the evening.

Broadly speaking, Rajasthan has a tropical desert climate. It is extremely cold from October to February while the scorching sun tortures the land from March to September. Temperature goes as high as 45°C in summer and in winter 10°C in most of the Rajasthan. But can fall to -2°C in some areas like Bikaner.

BEST TIME TO VISIT: The period between the months of November to February is the best time to visit Rajasthan.
